Albrecht Dürer was born on… No, we are not going to do this here.
We have ADHD so this is useless. What to remember about this amazing painter:
- He was born sometime around 1500 in Germany.
- You can still visit his house – Highly recomended.
- He was born into a rich family and married well, so there is no reason to feel bad because we need to have a job and do art.
- Dürer is famous for woodcut prints or illustrations. Yes, I know, it sounds like an amazing new hobby 😂
- Like every artist at that time, he also has some religion-inspired work. The most important works are Saint Jerome in his Study, Adam and Eve, and The Lamentation of Christ. Ok, this is too much information. It is hard to name all because the painted ones are to die for. The colors are so vibrant and amazing. I left you a link below where you can access all his work.

- Inspired by Raphael and Leonardo da Vinci, he traveled a few times to Italy and the influence is very noticeable in his art.
- My favorite artwork is the Self-Portrait at the Age of Twenty-Eight because I have been obsessing over portraits lately.
- What was different about his work? He used a tool used in Goldsmithing – the Burin. His father taught him how to use it when he was small and this helped him achieve amazing details in his wood work. Carving small pieces made his work more valueble.
- What impressed me the most was his ability to understand the concept of branding and how he started the first copyright action in history. I recommend you to look into it. The link is below, of course. We do not want you to fall into a rabbit hole 😂

- Durer died at the age of 56, leaving us a huge oeuvre and several books on Fortification (for cities, it was the fifteen hundreds), Body proportions, and Geometry (Measurements).
